Nature and Science Television Programs

I like watching nature and science television programs. It's like going to the movies.

I am not a big fan of "nature-shock TV". These are the shows that like to scare people with tales (and live video) of the "savagery" and dangers of the natural world. I think these shows defeat the purpose of Connecting-with-Nature.

These programs remind me of the way minorities and non-Westerners were (and unfortunately still are) portrayed as strange and deadly "others". To me, "nature-shock TV" is in many ways another form of xenophobic bigotry.

There are many nature-oriented shows on television. I haven't watched or listed them all. But, there is certainly a program you can connect with that inspires and informs you.

I have listed the major channels were you can find more information. The shows I highlight, I have seen myself and like.

Check your local listing for dates, times and channels.
