Summer Plants for Attracting Hummingbirds

These summer blooming plants will attract hummingbirds to your garden. Many of them will appeal to butterflies and insects, too.
Be sure to plant nectar flowers for each season to provide for hummingbirds all season long. Some of the flowers will bloom straight through fall. The flowers I listed are native to the east. I grow several in my Philadelphia garden such as Trumpet Honeysuckle, Coral Bells, Cardinal Flower and Butterfly weed. They are widely available and easy-to-grow.
