Nature and Science Podcasts

Podcasts are a fun and convenient way to learn about new science and environmental news.

When planning a trip, one of my first thoughts is often, "what am I going to listen to?'" Music, podcasts and animals sounds are usually my first choices.

Podcasts are digitalized radio and video programs that you can download from the Internet. The Apple iTunes Store has plenty available for free download. iTunes isn't the only player available, but it is the most prevalent. Besides, I am a Mac addict and like to tell people about great Apple programs.

If you don't have Apple iTunes software on your computer it is available as a free download for both Mac and Windows computers.

Once you download, install and open iTunes , you can go to the iTunes Store and choose from many free programs. Clicking the "subscribe" button means the programs will be downloaded to your computer depending on your preferences.

On iTunes, Science and Medicine has its' own category. Shows are available from many organizations, publications and ordinary, everyday people like you and me. You can even put your programs up on iTunes.

Programs that maybe of interest to you are from nature programs on television and from science magazines. Here is a selection.
