My Backyard Habitat Where I Nature Journal

To see the full gallery, follow the link to my Picasa page Backyard Habitat Photo Gallery

My garden is about 15 feet wide by 48 feet long. It is in a typical neighborhood on the edge of Philadelphia.

It proves you can create a bird, butterfly and animal friendly garden even in small urban spaces.

When I show people my nature journal they are amazed at the number and variety of plants and animals in such a small place.

I can step out my door and write, draw and photograph to my heart's content.

It is not hard to organize your garden as a certified habitat.

If you have such a garden and know good butterfly, bird and mammal attracting plants, consider sharing them with readers of this site who are just starting out.

So, peruse my photo gallery and see what happening a few steps outside my back door.
