Nature Calendars are great ways to connect with nature.
Nature calendars help you to learn the rhythms of the natural world. And I offer them as a help in keeping a nature journal or simply tracking the seasons. These dates can also be added to a simple datebook, notebook or nature journal. Imagine if you kept a simple record of the frost dates, first spring robin, summer storms and any other nature happenings you could think of to record. You would have an incredible resource at the end of a couple of years. The dates are also very useful if you study phenology and track the coordination of natural events. You can also add your own dates Some suggestions of dates to add include: - frosts dates for your area
- seasonal food availability dates
- daily temperature highs and lows
- rain and snowfall
- first appearance of insects, buds, and spring bulbs
