Birdbaths for Your Backyard Habitat

My birdbaths, picks and pans will hopefully save you the same amount of money I spent.

I enjoy sitting in my backyard habitat and drawing and writing in my nature journal. I really like looking out the window on a cold winter's day, seated in a comfortable chair with a cup of hot chocolate and my journal in front of me.

To feed these pleasures, I have bought plenty of water gadgets and equipment. Here are my choices of what has worked the best for me.

Amazon.com is pretty handy for photos. Click anywhere in the boxes to see the item and any reviews and prices.

Water - Best Container and Gadgets

So, far my favorite water and bird bath is an inexpensive plastic tray that fits inside a bird bath. I place it right on the ground. Just where birds naturally find it.

The plastic doesn't freeze. It is easy to clean and replace. I have several scattered around my backyard habitat.

I can't find a picture of one on Amazon.com, but your local garden center or bird feeder store might carry one or can order it for you.

This is a more "refined" variation on what I use.

I have the plain white Water Wiggler. The next one I buy will be this one with the nice green cover. The birds love it. And it is inexpensive to operate. It doesn't work in freezing water. I take it inside in the winter.

I haven't tried this. I offer it for apartment dwellers and those with no backyard. The tilting, easy-to-clean feature is a must. It might be a little deep for birds to bathe, not just drink. Putting rocks in it, as a place for the birds to stand, will make the birds happy.

Keep ice from forming in freezing cold weather. I can't use this in my favorite plastic tray, but it works in a ceramic dish.
